Day 1 - Explore the Barossa


wineglassS“Indulge yourself amongst the vines in the Barossa Valley”

Pick up ex  Adelaide , Depart by 8.00 am.
Travel by road, Adelaide Hills scenic route to the Barossa Valley for morning tea, amongst the vines.

Visit an engineering feat and marvel over “The Whispering Wall”.
Over a hundred years old, yet whispers can still be heard clearly.

Follow the winding road through the vineyards of the Barossa, to the world famous Jacobs Creek region.
We visit the Jacobs Creek Winery Visitors Centre, nestled on the banks, surrounded by vines. Sample fine wines from the first commercial vineyard of the Barossa, established in 1847,  by Johann Gramp.

Enjoy a traditional Ploughman’s Picnic lunch in the Barossa Valley.

Tempt your taste buds at one of the many wineries in the afternoon. Take in the view over the valley of vines from Menglers hill scenic lookout. Gather your favourite dried fruit and nuts at Angas Park fruits.

accomm1Depart the Barossa and travel through the cereal belt of the Adelaide plains and Yorke Peninsula, to Point Turton.

Your deluxe, beachfront accommodation offers fabulous views, overlooking the azure, blue waters of Hardwicke Bay and Flahertys’ beach.

Feast yourself this evening on fresh local produce at one of the fine dining locations available.

 

 

Day 2 - Spectacular Innes Tour


“Explore the natural beauty of Innes National Park”
Southern Yorke Peninsula.


Wake up to a cooked, country breakfast overlooking beautiful Hardwicke bay.

Travel to Innes National park for the day, visiting many scenic locations offering rugged, honeycomb coloured cliffs, secluded, romantic bays and white sandy surf beaches.

Enjoy a picnic in a tea tree bush setting.

innesbeachSExplore the natural beauty this region offers with a bushwalk through pristine bushscapes; be surprised by some of our local wildlife. Spend the afternoon at a secluded bay and cool off in the pristine waters. Take a walk along never ending white, sandy, surf beaches.
Listen to the awesome power of breaking surf from the swell of the Great Southern Ocean.

Dine at Rhino’s Tavern located at Stenhouse Bay, for your evening meal.

Be amazed at how many kangaroos you will see with a Nocturnal tour on the way back to your accommodation.

Gaze at the evening stars.

 

 

Day 3 - From Ocean to Ancient Outback Formations

“Follow the unique formations and history of the Southern Flinders Ranges”.


Enjoy a cooked country style breakfast on the balcony.

We head for the Outback, as we follow the coast to the top of  Spencer Gulf.

Morning tea will be at Crystal Brook, a small town steeped in early explorer’s history.

You visit the Wadlata Outback Discovery Centre where lunch is provided. The centre provides a journey back in time, the story of an ancient land, its people and its treasures.

We travel along the rugged ranges taking in the brilliant sights along the way.

Continuing on to Wilpena Pound Resort where you will spend the next 2 nights. The resort offers great accommodation in a very unique pristine location.

Enjoy your evening meal in front of a great open fire at Captain Starlight’s Restaurant.

 

 

Day 4 - Soar like an Eagle over Wilpena Pound

A Brilliant Bush setting-for a famous historic Australian pastoral station

Breakfast will be in front of an open fire, overlooking natural bushland.
A light Aircraft is the best way to explore the outback of South Australia in comfort, see vast inland lakes, sandy deserts and unique land formations. Circumnavigate Wilpena Pound.
Get a true understanding of the vastness of Australia’s outback and real beauty of these rugged formations, creating the beautiful Southern Flinders Ranges.

Experience the tranquillity that Wilpena Pound has to offer over morning tea.

Walk in the pound and discover the early history and hardship experienced by our early settlers.

Have a picnic lunch in a unique location.

Spend the remainder of the day at you leisure, walk one of the many bush trails or get up close to some Australian wildlife.

Enjoy a fine meal and some wine in front of the open fire at captain Starlight’s Restaurant.

View the night skies and see stars forever.


 

Day 5 - Travel the Ancient Valleys and Gorges

Have a hearty breakfast and depart Wilpena Pound Resort.

Travel to the beautiful Bunyeroo Valley where you will have morning
tea. View 600 million year old formations up close, see unique sites.
Picnic lunch will be in a serene setting at Brachina Gorge, before leaving the interior valleys and gorges of the Wilpena region.

On your return journey visit Death Rock, situated beside the beautiful Kanyaka water hole. Take a moment to reflect on the significance of this site.

Returning to Adelaide we travel via the northern side of the Southern Flinders Ranges, visiting the Clare Valley wine region for your evening meal.
